Hi! I'm Mary Kate and I have the best job in the world!
I'm a full-time wedding and lifestyle photographer in the DC Metro area, but travel worldwide. I get to photograph amazing people, traditions and locations every week. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching couple and families grow. I love when I meet an engaged couple and a few years later I'm photographing their babies. It's truly an honor and I have a passion for documenting these milestones.
I live in Frederick, Maryland with my hubby Joe and our little zoo of rescued animals. Joe is in the Army, so I have a very special place in my heart for military families.
I am a proud member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WJPA). I have also attended many fantastic workshops, such as the Maine Photographic Workshops and the Steve McCurry workshops .
I am also a volunteer photographer for US Campaign for Burma, The Littlest Heroes, Kids Are Heroes, Dodging Diabetes and several other great organizations. Giving back to the community, locally and worldwide, is at the core of my business.
Using my photography as a tool to help others has become a large part of what I do. I have documented the plight of AIDS orphans in Zambia, the struggle for land reform in Brazil, and the life of those who live under the totalitarian regime in Burma. I hope that in the future I can do more of this work and help bring to light the many situations that are not justly covered in the media.
